ST. SIMONS ISLAND - Oglethorpe Point Elementary School students have the math down pat: One quarter equals one less hungry child or adult in the Philippines.

Every Wednesday for more than a year has been "Washington Wednesday," when students bring in quarters to donate to Kids Against Hunger. Named for the image of George Washington on the coins, the ongoing initiative is the global outreach program of the school's community service project, Kids Who Care.
