Significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and feed starving children throughout the world.

  • Distribute a fortified soy/rice casserole-style meal specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of a starving child
  • Engage volunteers, as young as six years old, to package the ingredients for the meals
  • Maintain worldwide partnerships with humanitarian organizations

PostHeaderIcon Long term parish project has quick finish

therese_pckgChildren began collecting money to raise $1,800 at St. Theresa parish in Cordele to sponsor a pallet of food for Kids Against Hunger (KAH) in Advent of 2010. It took until February 2012.

The children asked for change from their friends and families and they collected change after Masses. In addition, there were two generous donations from non-parishioners.

St. Theresa was first introduced to Kids Against Hunger in 2009 when the parish participated in the Faith in Action day sponsored by the First Baptist Church in Cordele. Kids Against Hunger (www.kidsagainsthunger.org) is an organization devoted to addressing the dietary needs of starving children and families around the world.

Thanks everyone for your help in getting KAH food to us for the Horn of Africa. The attached short video gives you an idea of what 2 ½ million meals looks like on pallets – on the way to the goal of 4 ½ meals

After final negotiation with the shippers, the first 2 containers left today; another 2 tomorrow, etc. They are lifted onto rail cars in Cincinnati and then onto ships in NJ

The goal remains 15 rail cars of KAH leaving here as soon as we can.
